The Bhadohi district is situated in the planes of the river Ganges and is surrounded by Jaunpur District to the north, Varanasi District to the east, Mirzapur District to the south, and Allahabad District to the west. It is located between 25.12° to 25.32° North Latitudes and 82.12o to 82.42o East Longitudes. The total area of district is 1056 sq. km. and has 6 blocks namely Bhadohi, Suriyavan, Gyanpur, Deegh, Abholi and Aurai with a total of 1224 numbers of villages.
The Bhadohi District carved out from Varanasi district on June 30, 1994 as the 65th district of Uttar Pradesh and is known by the name ‘Carpet city’ as it is home to the largest hand-knotted carpet weaving industry hubs in South Asia. This place gets its name from Bhar Raj of the region which had Bhadohi as its capital.
Establishment of KVK and its location : KVK, Bhadohi was sanctioned on 22nd December, 2008 by ICAR, New Delhi under the administrative control of Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi and the foundation of Administrative building, farmers hostel and staff quarter was laid down on 27th February, 2009 by Dr. Mangala Rai, the then Secretary DARE and Director General ICAR, New Delhi.
KVK - Bhadohi is having land area of 14.07 ha. and is situated in village Bejwan, which is 20 km away from district headquarter i.e., Gyanpur and 8 km away from Aurai.
